Amy Sheeran-Stanley, LMT, Certified SOMA Practitioner

Thai Yoga Massage- a fully clothed session mainly done on a mat. Push-pull mechanics are applied with the gentle stretching and pressure point work. This is a dynamic therapy mobilizing the entire body and releasing energy flow in an entrancing dance. Breathwork can be included to deepen the release. Just like in yoga, this work can be modified for any body. After sessions, recipients report feeling deeply calm and invigorated at the same time.

Please wear comfortable, stretchy clothing.

Sarga - a style of barefoot bodywork that uses slow, oblique force to produce a myofascial shearing and lengthening effect in the tissues. A broader pressure can be applied by the foot for a more comfortable and deeply relaxing treatment. The practitioner uses straps to stabilize themselves on the table as well as to pull up and adjust the tensional pressure that transfers to recipient’s body.

SOMA Structural Integration - transformational bodywork that is applied in 11 sequential sessions, each building upon the next to systematically realign the body’s fascial network and enhance movement potential. SOMA expanded on Ida Rolf’s explorations of structure and gravity to emphasize the multidimensionality of a person and how hands-on work can also affect the mind and spirit. As the person finds length and space, verticality and grace, a positive healthy body image is invoked. The efficiency in biomechanics and a more positive outlook empowers them to move through life with more energy, ease, and self reliance.  For anyone looking for change in a postural or pain pattern or for self exploration. The most benefit comes from participating in the series, as each session addresses specific parts to eventually balance the whole. The sessions are generally a week apart and last between 1.5 and 2 hours. In addition to the actual bodywork, movement re-education, reading materials, journaling and other activities may be incorporated.
